6:00 PM – 7:00 PM ET

Two of our most stylish and fearless friends are on tap tonight to discuss spy accessories from the fun and fantastic to the lifesaving.

Dexter Ingram is a counterterrorism and counter weapons of mass destruction strategist. He's led US interagency delegations to Asia and Africa focusing on nuclear proliferation deterrence. He’s served as Senior CT Advisor to INTERPOL in Lyon, France; Senior Political Advisor in Helmand, Afghanistan; and Deputy Director of the State Department's WMD Terrorism effort; but what does he do in his rare spare time? He collects historical CIA, KGB, Stasi, OSS, SOE, and French Resistance "real life" gadgets with a splash of James Bond on the side. And wait till you see his spy watches.

He’s joined by Jonna Mendez, former CIA chief of disguise and SPY Advisory Board Member. No one knows how much difference the right accessory can make to a mission better than she does. From a scarf or hat that can save your life to more subtle changes in footwear that can help construct a whole new persona, Mendez has the tales to tell.

You’re welcome to ask questions after the talk – whether they relate to spy stories or spy gear.

Our drink this evening is Dexter’s Dirty Martini brought to you by Doyle Bar at The Dupont Circle Hotel

Dirty Martini

  • 6 oz of Vodka
  • 1 oz green olive brine (add more if you want an extra dirty martini!)
  • ½ oz dry Vermouth
  • 3 green olives (we love blue cheese stuffed olives)

Add ice & water to martini glass and set aside to chill while you mix your cocktail.

Add vodka, olive brine, and vermouth to shaker filled with ice. Shake until ice cold to the touch.

Dump water from martini glass & strain martini into glass.

Add olives & cheers!
