Join us for an online discussion of the latest intelligence, national security, and terrorism issues in the news. Spy Museum Executive Director Chris Costa will lead the briefing. Costa, a former intelligence officer of 34 years with 25 of those in active duty in hot spots such as Panama, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq is also a past Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council. He will be joined by Dr. Nadia Schadlow who served in 2018 as the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy.
Schadlow was the lead architect of the 2017 National Security Strategy. Prior to joining the National Security Council, she was a senior program officer in the International Security and Foreign Policy Program of the Smith Richardson Foundation, where she helped identify strategic issues which warrant further attention from the U.S. policy community. She served on the Defense Policy Board earlier in her career and is a full member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Her career began with a focus on the Soviet Union at the Department of Defense. Her book War and the Art of Governance focuses on the U.S. Army's experiences with political and economic stabilization during war and has been included on several professional military education reading lists. She is currently a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute.
