Join us for an online discussion of the latest intelligence, national security, and terrorism issues in the news. Spy Museum Executive Director Chris Costa will lead the briefing. Costa a former intelligence officer of 34 years with 25 of those in active duty in hot spots such as Panama, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq is also a past Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council. He will be joined by Dr. Joshua A. Geltzer, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor for the White House National Security Council.

Previously, Geltzer served as Special Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Homeland Security Advisor on Countering Domestic Violent Extremism, and in that role, he oversaw the development of the US Government’s first-ever National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism. Before returning to government service, Geltzer was the founding Executive Director and Visiting Professor of Law at Georgetown Law’s Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection. Additionally, he was an International Security Program Fellow at New America and an Executive Editor at Just Security. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, having served previously as Deputy Legal Advisor to the National Security Council and as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the US Department of Justice. Previous to those roles, he served as a law clerk to Justice Stephen Breyer of the US Supreme Court.
