“Meet a Spy” Members- Only Event with Jonna Mendez

This Valentine’s Day season, in the spirit of love and appreciation, we are thrilled to invite all members to Member Appreciation Days.

During Member Appreciation Days, stop by the Museum for an exclusive Member Meet & Greet with Spy Museum Advisory Board Member Jonna Mendez. Jonna Mendez is a former Chief of Disguise in the CIA’s Office of Technical Service, often compared to “Q” in the Ian Fleming novels, Ms. Mendez was also a specialist in clandestine photography. Her 27-year career, for which she earned the CIA’s Intelligence Commendation Medal, included operational disguise responsibilities in the most hostile theaters of the Cold War, from Havana to Beijing to Moscow and ultimately into the Oval Office.

She is currently an author, lecturer, teacher and consultant on intelligence matters. She has co-written several books with her husband Antonio Mendez, including Spy Dust: A True Story of Espionage and Romance, Argo and, most recently, The Moscow Rules.

Members are invited to stop by any time between 9 and 11 AM on Saturday, February 12th, to enjoy coffee and pastries and chat with Jonna and other members of the Spy Museum team.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all guests 12+ will be required for this event in accordance with the DC Government issued vaccine mandate. Guests 18+ will also need to provide photo ID. Additionally, Mayor’s Order 2021-147 requires the wearing of masks indoors at all times when not actively eating or drinking.
