American Camouflage Corps patch, US, ca. 1917

This chameleon insignia patch was worn by the troops of the American Camouflage Corps, the Army’s first dedicated camouflage unit, formed in 1917. In early 1918, they deployed to France as US Army Company A of the 40th Engineers.
