Experience the stories and artifacts of the International Spy Museum in a new way with Secrets on Display. The recently published book takes readers on a tour of the thrilling, real-life history of intelligence and espionage from around the world. With tales of spies, codebreakers, moles, terrorist-hunters, spy chiefs, propagandists, and secret agents, these new histories uncover a world that many of us only see in the movies.

Join us for a conversation led by authors and editors Dr. Mark Stout and Dr. Sarah-Jane Corke. Stout is a former senior lecturer and director of the Master of Arts in Global Security Studies program at Johns Hopkins University, and a former intelligence officer. Corke is associate professor of historical studies at the University of New Brunswick. They’ll discuss the stories selected with some of the other contributing authors and explore how they choose what to highlight and which artifacts to showcase. The book aims to make the world’s largest museum devoted to intelligence history accessible to everyone with over 200 photographs and a variety of subjects ranging from Civil War balloons to the Robert Hanssen case. Will you hear from Amanda Ohlke, SPY’s director of adult education, about her chapter on Mata Hari? Of course.

Following the conversation, you’ll be able to ask questions via our online platform.
