Member Outing: The Cold War Museum
Inner Circle Members, please join us for an exclusive outing to The Cold War Museum at historic Vint Hill on Friday, May 8, at 10AM. The visit will begin with a special introduction by Francis Gary Powers Jr., founder of the Museum and son of U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers, who was shot down over the Soviet Union on May 1, 1960.
Founded in 1996 by Powers Jr. and John Welch, The Cold War Museum honors veterans, preserves Cold War history, and educates future generations about its lasting impact. Since 2011, the Museum has been located on the grounds of Vint Hill Farms Station, a former top-secret Army signals intelligence base active during WWII and the Cold War.
After exploring the Museum, we’ll enjoy a boxed lunch together (included). Please note that transportation is not provided, but Vint Hill also offers nearby dining options, a winery, and a brewery for those wishing to make a day of it.
Accessibility Notice: We want all visitors to have a smooth experience. Please be aware that the Museum’s second floor is accessible only by stairs, and there is no elevator available.
This event is free of charge and open exclusively to Spy Museum members. You can join SPY as a member online or by calling 202.654.2840. Please contact Stephanie Haver, sbhaver@spymuseum.org.
