Join International Spy Museum Executive Director Chris Costa in conversation with Peter Bergen. Bergen, one of the few journalists to interview Osama bin Laden, has just released his newest book All the Presidents’ Wars—an eye-opening history of the United States’ war on terror across four presidential administrations.

Costa, a past special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council during the Trump administration, and Bergen, a journalist, documentary producer, professor, and author of seven books, including Manhunt, one of three New York Times bestsellers, will discuss the critical decisions Bush, Obama, Biden, and Trump made and their global consequences. Drawing on hundreds of interviews included in All the Presidents’ Wars and their personal experiences, Costa and Bergen will explore innovations and unintended consequences of each presidency’s military and political decisions, including debates over military intervention and withdrawal; the tactics of special operations units, armed drones, and armies of counterterrorism partners; and whether the idea of war ever properly captured the defining conflict of recent American foreign policy. Join us for a deep look at the profound ramifications of this epoch in American life.

Following their conversation, the audience will have a chance to ask their own questions.

All the Presidents’ Wars will be available for sale and signing at the program and online.
