2018 Webster Award

The second annual William H. Webster Distinguished Service Award Event, held on November 28, 2018, at the Washington, DC, Ritz Carlton Hotel, recognized Admiral William H. McRaven, former US Special Operations Commander, former Joint Special Operations Commander, and former Chancellor of The University of Texas System. We also celebrated L3 Warriors Sensor Systems, the inaugural recipient of the Innovation Award.

The event was attended by past and present leaders in the intelligence community, government, and the private sector.  The evening’s program included a Salute to Special Operations Forces.

2018 Webster Distinguished Service Award Recipient

Admiral William H. McRaven, USN (Ret.)

Admiral William H. McRaven, former Chancellor of The University of Texas System, and a retired US Navy four-star admiral, led one of the nation’s largest and most respected systems of higher education. Prior to becoming chancellor, McRaven was the commander of US Special Operations Command during which time he led a force of 69,000 men and women and was responsible for conducting counter-terrorism operations worldwide. McRaven also is a recognized national authority on US foreign policy and has advised presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama and other US leaders on defense issues.
