Why We Need Your Support Now

During its three-month closure this spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Spy Museum lost 95% of its revenue. Although the Museum was able to reopen in late June, current limitations on visitors persist, and the Museum can only welcome 20% of its usual capacity. This continues to severely impact our ability to operate and deliver our mission.

The Spy Museum has committed to keeping as many jobs intact as possible and to serving our community, offering an array of free and low-cost educational programming to learners of all ages that has reached more than 20,000 households in all 50 states and more than 60 countries.

During our closure, we were forced to furlough part-time staff who worked directly with visitors, and the remainder of our staff took cuts in pay of up to 25%, along with decreased benefits. Operating expenses were cut by one third. Together with its Governing Board, SPY leadership has worked hard to make smart changes in spending and has put our staff and visitors first. But we need help to continue operations and to preserve jobs.
