“TUNNY”/ Lorenz SZ-40 Cipher Machine

1941, Germany

I’m the Big Tuna.

I’m fast. How fast, you ask? During World War II, I simultaneously encrypted and transmitted the highest level of secret intelligence for the German Army’s top brass. In fact, my output was SO BIG, British codecrackers nicknamed me “Tunny” for tuna—like the big fish, get it? They were right, too. I’m quite the catch.
