Security comes in all shapes and sizes. Sure, now you have more stylish models. But back in the ‘90s, I was right on trend as the NSA’s first secure cell phone. On the surface, I’m just a Motorola flip phone anyone could buy (not that I was cheap). But when NSA added a security module between my handset and battery—voila!—I transformed into a Secure Telephone Unit. Just call me STU. Encryption powers at the push of a button. Three hours of battery life. That’s a fashion statement.
