You can’t visit the Spy Museum right now, but we can tell you some of our favorite stories about the spies who live on in our Spies & Spymasters gallery and why not do it over a cocktail? Join us online for a virtual happy hour.
A local bartender from Stoney’s on P Street will be shaking up a cocktail and sharing the recipe for a drink that will perk up your pandemic mood, and then we’ll supply a thrilling tale.
This evening, Dr. Alexis Albion, Curator of Special Exhibits, will reveal the story of Queen Elizabeth I’s spymaster, Sir Francis Walsingham. The plots, the secrets, the epic battles won and lost. And how do you talk someone into beheading her cousin anyway?
We’ll be joined direct from England by a very special guest: Good Queen Bess herself! AKA actress Airlie Scott, who portrays Queen Elizabeth I in the Spy Museum’s exhibition, she’ll share some of her thoughts on the burdens of wearing the crown.
You’re welcome to ask questions after the talk—whether they relate to the Virgin Queen or virgin drinks!
