The International Spy Museum is currently seeking qualified individuals to work in our Security Department. Candidate would work between 20-30 hours weekly and must have open availability.
The Security Private will support the Security Corporal / Security Lieutenant ensuring the overall physical safety and security for all visitors and staff, artifacts, exhibits, and private property of the International Spy Museum.
This position shall supervise the Security Officers and provide them leadership, guidance, and training. They will control visitor access and crowd flow, monitor CCTV cameras, provide and ensure exceptional customer service, maintain exits/entrances, operate elevators, perform thorough security functions, and staff assigned is given.
You must have demonstrated customer service experience and a proven track record of interacting with public in a professional and courteous manner.
Be able to secure and maintain a Security Officer license in the District of Columbia.
Be punctual for assigned shifts and have reliable transportation.
Enforce local laws and ordinance.
Communicate guest concerns/complaints to management and propose recommendations that successfully eliminate negative guest experiences.
Support the Security Teams safety aspects of the Museum including: evacuations and fire drills; ensuring a safe environment; addressing threats to the Museum, its staff, or visitors; alarm systems; CCTV; medical emergencies; and issues involving hostile visitors, disturbances or theft.
Understand the expectations of security policies and procedure on the emergency and disaster preparedness plan and incident response plan.
Administrative duties to include; coordinate Daily logs, coordinate weekly Security News Letter and complete weekend staff rotations.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Two years security experience
Two plus years of customer service experience
Security officer license in the District of Columbia
