SPY Hosts DCPS Scholarship Awards

The International Spy Museum (SPY) will host DC Public Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee, on Thursday May 27 as she presents 10 ten-year-old fourth and fifth graders with $2,000 scholarship grants towards their college education through the 17th Annual 10 Who Are 10 Awards Competition. The 2010 creative theme, “Let’s Move it Monday,” focuses on the importance of healthy eating in schools.

SPY Welcomes 5 Millionth Visitor

The International Spy Museum (SPY) welcomed its 5 millionth visitor over the Labor Day weekend. Since its opening in July 2002, the Museum has helped to shape the vibrant new face of downtown DC. The Museum continues to be a cornerstone in the Penn Quarter redevelopment and a must-see for Washingtonians and visitors worldwide.

Each year the Themed Entertainment Association, a worldwide nonprofit association representing the creators of compelling places and experiences, selects representatives who can publicly exemplify the highest standards of excellence and achievement in the industry. The Nominating Committee evaluated more than 120 nominations to select the final slate of 17 recipients including: the International Spy Museum’s Operation Spy, The Newseum, and The National Museum of the Marine Corps.
