• In the late 1970s the public feared that nuclear weapons would wipeout the human race.  In the world of Bond, Karl Stromberg and Hugo Drax actively pursued that same end:  Drax wanted to engineer a super-race in space, and Stromberg imagined a new civilization beneath the sea.
